Unofficial Goth Family lore

This lore is based on the extensive research and theories originally presented by AlexPlaysSimsStuff. Their original work can be found here.

In the heart of SimCity, a devastating fire consumed the old town, prompting the Goth family to establish Pleasantview. This small, grassy suburb, nestled between three mountains and close to the water, became the new home for many former residents of the old town.

Pleasantview is a picturesque locale, featuring distinct neighborhoods, including a small trailer park, six condos, and a commercial district with a pool, grocery store, and clothing store. The southern part of Pleasantview, near the water, is notably more affluent, featuring the town’s largest and most expensive homes.

Mortimer Goth, a wealthy scientist, lived in a grand, gothic-style mansion with his wife Bella and their daughter Cassandra. Bella, with her mysterious aura, was Mortimer’s test subject for his life elixir. Bella’s brother, Michael Bachelor, also lived in the area, embarking on his own scientific career, including sim cloning. Mortimer’s grandparents, Gunther and Cornelia, resided in the old town.

Before the events of The Sims 2, Michael moved to the city. Although siblings, Bella and Michael didn’t maintain a close relationship in adulthood. Michael’s cloning experiments led to significant events, including the accidental death of the real Skip Broke during a cloning attempt when Brandi was pregnant with Beau. Unaware of this, Brandi later became pregnant with her own clone, arranged by Michael.

Mortimer continued to perfect his life elixir, which Bella used regularly. During this time, Cassandra entered private school. After Gunther Goth’s death and the old Goth house burning down, the family moved into a new mansion in Pleasantview, where Cornelia spent her last days.

Michael married Dina Caliente amid speculation that the marriage was for his money. This was Dina’s first serious relationship, and Dina began an affair with Don Lothario, just before Michael died. Shortly after Cornelia’s death, Alexander Goth was born. Mortimer discovered Bella’s affair with Skip Broke, leading to their separation.

Michael’s death brought Mortimer and Dina together; they met at Michael’s funeral, where Dina inherited Michael’s estate and learned about Mortimer’s life elixir. Dina and her sister, Nina, moved to Pleasantview on the eve of Bella’s disappearance, with Don following them the next day.

Despite initial doubts, Alexander was confirmed to be Mortimer’s son. Bella attempted to reconcile with Mortimer and then turned down Don Lothario. Bella disappeared after a fateful encounter with Don, and she was abducted by aliens, leading to widespread speculation about her fate. Reports surfaced of Bella in Strangetown, but it wasn’t the real Bella. The alien queen took on Bella’s appearance, but the real Bella lost her memories, personality, and youth due to complications during the abduction.

Mortimer seemed strangely unbothered by Bella’s disappearance and quickly moved on with Dina Caliente. As a teenager, Cassandra launched a search for Bella, placing missing posters, getting her image on milk cartons, and conductingresearch. Naive and hopeful, she fell for Don Lothario, unaware of his multiple affairs. Meanwhile, Darren Dreamer, a struggling artist, harbored feelings for Cassandra.

In a twist of fate, Bella ended up on Lunar Lakes (which in The Sims 3 is placed in the future) after her abduction, giving birth to Mathilde Goth before dying of old age. Mathilde, unaware of her Earth family, grew up in an orphanage.

Cassandra, now an inventor, created a time machine, which was used to send Don to the future after discovering his infidelity. Cassandra never learned her mother’s fate or met her sister. Alexander, deeply affected by Bella’s disappearance, used the time machine with his wife Lucy (later Cecilia), ending up in the past where they were trapped. Cecilia, Alexander’s wife, died trying to fix the time machine.

As Alexander had no memory of the abduction, he always suspected Mortimer of killing Bella. After traveling back in time, he attempted to prevent Bella’s death by writing books. Cecilia’s mysterious death confused future generations.

The story of Bella Goth remains a saga of mystery, family intrigue, and time travel, woven into the fabric of Pleasantview and beyond.
