Unofficial lore for Paradise Place and Deadtree (PSP)

Strangetown’s tales become even richer with the addition of The Sims 2 PSP storyline, revealing further mysteries and dark secrets that pervade the town’s underbelly. In addition to its intriguing aliens, conspiracies, and supernatural elements, the characters and their intertwined histories add depth to this peculiar desert town.

Bella has been reported to be seen on her mysterious journey at Mambo Loa’s shop in Paradise Place, distressed and desperate to leave Strangetown for good. She wanders the shop, offering her “holiday mansion,” the Espiritu Estate, to the player. In her conversation, she reveals that she’s never truly loved Mortimer Goth, confessing that her initial motivation was money, but she stayed for “free premium cable.” Despite her high asking price, Bella sells the mansion to the player for whatever they have, fleeing town with no plans to return. The mansion itself is a point of intrigue, as it comes with a “maid,” Emily Emory, who “doesn’t need to eat” and allegedly stays out of habit—hinting she may not be human at all, but a spirit. Still, it seems that Bella may not be able to escape Strangetown after all.

The estate Bella Goth sold to the player was haunted not only by Dennis, the former town millionaire, but also by Nervious Subject’s ghost. Nervous Subject’s ghost was freed by the player’s intervention, once haunted the master bedroom, grieving his lost love. With Nervous’s spirit laid to rest, the music room falls silent, leaving Emily as the last wandering soul, perhaps holding the keys to more untold secrets of Strangetown’s past.

At the eerie heart of Deadtree lies a mysterious meeting house where Ophelia Specter, now an adult, presides over an unconventional assembly of ghosts, zombies, and poltergeists. Haunted by her aunt’s legacy, her mother’s death, and her unraveling sanity, Ophelia can’t always distinguish between the living and the dead, sometimes insisting that even player “return to the grave.” Left to inherit the meeting house after her mother’s will, Ophelia seems to be living at this public meeting house alone at first.

Behind the meeting house lies a graveyard marked with a nameless gravestone that bears Nervous Subject’s charm, a token of his love for Annie Howell, the Nighthowl waitress. Nervous’s restless spirit could be freed with this charm. The graveyard itself is crawling with zombies and spectral entities that Ophelia curiously herds, perhaps in an attempt to maintain some order over her unusual “neighbors” as she struggles to find her place between worlds.

The Deadtree area is also home to the enigmatic Kin Society—a strange, cow-themed cult led by Doctor Dominic Newlow, who manipulates its members, including Robert, for his own ends. Meanwhile, Hoot Howell, Annie Howell’s uncle, serves as the founder and proprietor of the Nighthowl, a spot where players uncover many secrets of Deadtree’s unusual residents. Virginia Fang, a seemingly eternal adult, has somehow survived for over a century due to a vampiric curse, though she eventually finds a cure. Annie Howell, on the other hand, struggles with her own supernatural affliction, as she is revealed to be a werewolf.

With the upheaval at Division 47, Strangetown’s residents face uncertain futures:

  • Oscar Del Fuego and Isaac Rossum are now single, with Isaac in the process of reconstructing his robotic partner, Roberta.
  • Hazel Dente remains haunted by her crimes, perpetually alone, while Dominic Newlow drifts in open relationships, his alter ego Dominion vanquished.
  • The Beakers, Loki and Circe, are locked in conflict, exposing their volatile relationship, as Ophelia Specter withdraws to her role at the Deadtree meeting house.
  • Annie Howell, left heartbroken, finds solace as the werewolf proprietor of the Nighthowl.
  • The Smith family is split, with Jenny remaining at Division 47 and Johnny, a runaway, later hidden in Deadtree, while Jill Smith grapples with her new life alone.

Each household in Paradise Place contributes to the eerie atmosphere of Strangetown. While the Espiritu Estate is haunted by ghosts with tragic pasts, the Rossums reveal the strange blending of robotics and human companionship. Hazel Dente’s mansion hides a trail of suspicion and possible murder, all while Dr. Newlow (Doctor Dominion) schemes to exert control over the town’s most vulnerable residents. These intertwining stories create a tapestry of strangeness, where betrayal, ambition, and mystery leave no stone unturned.

Strangetown remains a rich, layered world of secrets, where the consequences of alien experiments, scientific meddling, and unchecked ambition come to light in shocking ways. The added elements from the PSP storyline reveal deeper connections among the residents, highlighting the hidden dangers of a seemingly ordinary desert town.
